We trialled running a poll via our blog.
We asked people to vote on "What do good readers do?"
Our overwhelming response was that good readers use lots of strategies (clues) to help them work out words they don't know or to work out meaning.
A good reader can:
1/ Use picture clues
2/ Read-on
3/ Re-read
4/ Sound it out
5/ Use blends and chunks
The closed poll and its results can be found at the very bottom of our blog.
We are learning to use all these skills
